OUR STORY

The Mudworks is a ceramics studio in the heart of Bohemia in St Leonards, owned and run by us, Chantelle Duncan and Isabella Campi.

 

The Mudworks started with very little - simply  a love of clay, a belief in making things by hand and a determination to create something of our own.
What began as an idea quickly became a real place. We built it from the ground up, figuring things out as we went - getting our hands dirty in every sense - and putting everything we had into creating a space where people could come together around clay.
There was no big plan or ready-made studio waiting for us. We started with an empty garage, a lot of hard work and a vision for what we could become.
Today, The Mudworks is a community of makers, learners, teachers and potters. It’s a place to try something new, to make mistakes, to get muddy, to learn from one another and, most importantly, to create something with your own two hands.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come… but even prouder that something that started with so little has grown into a place that means so much to so many people. And this is still just the beginning…..
